Scripture: Genesis 12:1–3

Children, have you ever gone to a new place without knowing what it would be like?

Today we learn from Abram. God called him to go, and God promised to take care of him.

II. BACKGROUND OF THE TEXT

Genesis 12 begins God’s rescue plan for the world. God chose Abram by grace, not because Abram was great.

God’s care always begins with God’s call.

III. SERMON POINTS

I. God Calls Abram to Walk by Faith (Gen. 12:1)

The Hebrew word lekh lekha means to go in full trust.

  • Abram did not know the place
  • Abram trusted the Person
  • Faith trusts God, not maps

II. God Promises to Bless and Care (Gen. 12:2)

The word barak means life-giving blessing.

  • God provides daily needs
  • God gives future hope
  • God’s blessing has purpose

III. God’s Care Makes Abram a Blessing (Gen. 12:3)

  • God cares so we can care for others
  • Faith always blesses others
  • Jesus is the fulfillment of this promise

IV. AGE APPLICATIONS

Toddlers (1–5)

God loves and protects you.

Children (6–10)

V. CONCLUSION

God who cared for Abram also cares for you today.

We walk by faith, not by sight,
God holds our hand day and night.
